Dave Willard

Dave Willard has been involved with making music ever since he first picked up the guitar at age 12. By the age of 16, he had joined his first band and by age 17 he was already performing original music on stage. Dave was also active with music in high school, playing alto saxophone in the school band and playing guitar in the jazz band. His success with music in high school led him to pursue music in college. He went on to attend William Paterson University, where he studied the classical guitar and sound engineering arts. In 2005 Dave graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Music. As a private guitar teacher, Dave has a wealth of experience to draw upon. Dave started teaching guitar early on, driving to students houses as soon as he had his license. It's been a part of his life ever since and something he's always enjoyed doing. In 2007 Dave took up teaching full time. He already had a private clientele of about 10 students and expanded on that when he hooked up with the School of Rock in Long Valley NJ. From 2007 to 2010 he kept a student roster of as many as 23 students. He also headed up the School of Rock for adults program, summer camp programs and was the in house live sound engineer for all student performances. Recently Dave has left School of Rock to build on his private teaching business. Dave's experience stretches beyond the lesson room too, with a performance history that is quite diverse. From rock bands to jazz bands to classical guitar ensembles, Dave has proved that he can play almost any style of music. Since 2007, Dave has been very active playing guitar with his cover band The Big Fat Phoneys, performing everything from Led Zeppelin to Lady Gaga. Most recently, Dave has joined up with the alternative rock band and ultimate party band, TAG (tagtheband.com), playing bass. They headed out for a 20 day tour at the end of 2010 hitting up cities in Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Maryland. In 2011, TAG continued to play cities in the North East. At the end of March 2011, Dave will be wrapping up his time with TAG with a series of gigs in Panama City, FL.

The Aristocrats

What I love most about this album is its organic sound. There are hardly any overdubs at all, and absolutely no filler tracks. Instead, the band relies on their amazing abilities to play exactly the right thing at the right time to fill out the mix.
