Metallica Monopoly

Today, Metallica joined the likes of iconic rock bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, KISS and The Grateful Dead by releasing their own collector’s edition of the classic Parker Brother’s board game, Monopoly.

The commemorative game board and box feature cartoon character versions of the four heavy metal masters, James, Kirk, Lars and Rob, rocking out to an excited crowd of fans.

Game play is generally the same as the regular version of Mononpoly, but Metallica fans will get an extra kick out of the customized elements of this special edition, which reference songs, albums and lyrics from the band’s 30-year history.

Players have the choice of using the Metallica Ninja Star, Kill ‘Em All Hammer, …And Justice for All Scales, St. Anger Fist, Black Album Snake and the Jump in the Fire Demon as game pieces. Community Chest and Chance board spaces have been replaced with “Binge and Purge” and “Jump in the Fire”. And instead of building houses and hotels on their properties, players can accumulate arenas and stadiums.

Property names haven’t been made clear yet but if previous rock and roll themed Monopolies offer any clue, fans can expect them to incorporate song titles like Master of Puppets Place or Enter Sandman Street.

So far it seems that Mononpoly Metallica Collector’s Edition is only available for sale in the band’s online MetStore.
