Winter NAMM 2013

NAMM 2013Winter NAMM is where we usually get smacked in the side of the head with all the incredible guitar stuff that manufacturers have been working on all year long. It’s a celebration of all things new in music, and a chance to get serious about lusting after gear.

Last year was an incredible year, and it kept us busy writing gear articles – if you want to check out some of last years stuff, head on over to our 2012 NAMM  page.

This year, the magical extended winter weekend is January 24-27th.

Here is a little preview of what’s going to be going on at this year’s NAMM show.

Highlights:

  • Chord Dice will be unveiling the Chord Dice Pro – if you’ve got writers block, or if you kinda have a passion for dice games, you might like the whole Chord Dice concept.
  • All day long, Dustin Thompson and John Cruz will be demonstrating D&H Guitars.
  • The guitarist for FUEL, Andy Andersson, will be at the White House Event Center – for David Allen Pickups.
  • Around 8PM we’ll find the NAMM Party – Steve Stevens, Ted Nugent, and Phil X.
  • Peerless Guitars will be demonstrating the new Retromatic.
  • Steve Morse, and Guthrie Govan will be at the TC Electronic booth
  • WD Music products will be showcasing Kent Armstrong’s new Rory Gallagher pickups. They’re reproductions of what Rory used in most of his guitars.
  • In Hall C, Carvin will have many demos going on.
  • Steve Stevens will be in Hall D for David Allen Pickups.
  • Eastman guitars will welcome jazz legend John Pisano.
  • Michael Sweet and Timothy Gaines of Stryper will be in Hall D with Overture Guitars. Michael will be showing off his new Signature MSI-V Guitar.
  • Christina Perri will be in Hall D as well, signing autographs and displaying her new signature guitar – “Perri Ink”.
  • Rob Balducci and his band will be there too – check out our interviews with him here, and here.
  • Of course – the Living Legends Concert – members from: Blue Oyster Cult, Iron Maiden, Yes, Bad Company, BB King, Quiet Riot, and more.

Guitar Gear:

  • Gibson is ready with almost 70 brand new guitars.
  • For iPhone / iPad folks – expect to see many many IOS creations coming out, like this Squier.
  • Orange Amps has promised something – we’re not sure yet but it’s said to be a “world first”. We’ll make sure you know about it right away!
  • Other manufacturers will obviously be there as well, like Fender – who has been a bit quiet about what they’ve got planned, Peavey, and all the other big names.

There is a lot more going on – but I’ve just pulled  a few highlights out right here. And these are just some of the folks you’ll find at this years NAMM – the number of new products and product updates will be staggering to say the least.

It’s always a great time at Winter NAMM, and we’ll be bringing you the action as it happens, details on all of the latest guitar gear wizzardry, and hopefully some great photos of the event.
