When it comes to guitar playing, the issue has always been, “Why haven’t they made a guitar stand that’s also a seat?” Well, your prayers have been answered. Straight out of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, it’s the AxSys 1.0 AxSys 1.0.

Made by the new school innovators at Iconic Metal, (www.iconicmetal.com) the AxSys 1.0 is both a stand for your guitar and a seat for your bottom.

This sounds like something either impractical or pretty useful, and I’m going to say pretty useful.

The idea behind the AxSys 1.0 is obvious, but it’s a cool one.

Imagine having your guitar sitting on the AxSys in the middle of the stage or room, walking up to it and then just sitting right there where your guitar just was. The stage prop value of this is pretty high. It’ll look cool, and people will most definitely be wondering what the hell you just did.

The seat/stand hybrid is comprised of 1 ½” x .250” walled, aircraft grade aluminum tubing and a motocross inspired skid-proof seat cover.

The cool thing about that is that when your guitar is lying up against the AxSys, it’s going to stay put. It also looks pretty rugged too. This is most definitely a player’s piece, and will make any situation where a stand or chair is needed that much cooler.

With a somewhat high end MSRP of $300 (compared to regular guitar stands or bench seats), this isn’t necessarily for everyone. If you’re someone who plays primarily standing up, odds are you don’t even use a seat, but maybe a stand. Though, if you’re someone who gigs out individually, I’d say this is a pretty neat piece to add to your array of gear.

Maybe you’re sick of grabbing a normal, uncomfortable chair from the different venues you play in. That bar stool isn’t very comfortable anymore, and it’s probably giving you back issues as well.

The AxSys 1.0 is going to give you 100% freedom to rock out, and encourage that good posture your mother was always on your ass about.

In all seriousness though, this will cut down on the amount of things that you have to bring to a gig. Not a bad idea at all.
