It won’t be until September 13th that you will get to hear the whole thing, but Dream Theater was kind enough to share the first track off “Dramatic Turn of Events” with the fans a few days ago.
It’s the debut of the new drummer, Mike Mangini, who has an impressive list of skin pounding gigs, like Extreme, Steve Vai, and Annihilator.
He’ll be a welcome addition to the band for sure.
John Petrucci had this to say about the album, in early June:
“I’m incredibly psyched with the way this album came out and can’t wait to share it with everybody,” guitarist John Petrucci, who also serves as the producer for “A Dramatic Turn Of Events”, said. “We are currently in the mix stage with the great Andy Wallace (White Zombie, Nirvana, Slayer, Rage Against the Machine, Avenged Sevenfold) and it’s all sounding amazing!”
“We have poured our hearts and minds into the creation of this album,” keyboardist Jordan Rudess offered. “All the life changing events that surrounded us before, as well as during the whole process, fueled our desire to dig deep within ourselves and create the best music we possibly could.”
